Since the time of Peter the Great, Krasnoderevshchik 1693 factory has been creating authentic masterpieces of carpentry inheriting and multiplying the ship traditions of the Russian Navy.

On September 18, 1693, Peter I personally laid down and participated in the launch of the merchant marine ship (small 24 -gun frigate) «St. Apostle Paul» on May 20, 1694. That event marked the beginning of mass marine wooden shipbuilding in Russia. In 1701 Peter I established the Arkhangelsk Admiralty and ordered the Dvina waywode and Governor of Arkhangelsk, cup-bearer F. M. Apraksin to resume construction of the State Solombal Shipyard. In 1823 a woodworking workshop and a blacksmith shop were built.

In 2004 the woodworking shop of the Krasnaya Kuznitsa shipyard was transformed into an independent enterprise «KRASNODEREVSHCHIK».

From 2004 to 2011 the factory «KRASNODEREVSHCHIK» was part of the Russian Fund of architectural heritage named after Andrey Rublev, skilled workers took part in the revival programme of old Russian wooden architecture.

In 2020 the factory was renamed «KRASNODEREVSHCHIK 1693». Cherishing the tradition of carpentry the factory manufactures exclusive wood interiors for kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms and children's rooms.

The Head of the Factory «KRASNODEREVSHCHIK 1693» is Alexander Vladimirovich Nekrasov.
