The «Mondi SLPK» JSC is one of the leaders of the pulp and paper industry and is the largest paper manufacturer in Russia.

The mill is located in Syktyvkar (Komi Republic), and produces high quality competitive products: office paper, offset paper, quality newsprint paper, container cardboard and dry market pulp.

The «Mondi SLPC»s produces 1050 thousand tons of cellulose, 740 thousand tons of uncoated, high quality paper and 325 thousand tons of container cardboard annually.

The company's revenue, in 2019, was over 60 billion rubles.
The history of the mill began on June 25, 1969, when a cardboard making machine was installed.

Over the course of 51 years, the company has been fundamentally transformed. Since 2002, the «Mondi SLPC» has become a part of the «Mondi Group» - one of the global leaders in packaging materials and paper production - and is a modern enterprise of a full production cycle: from raw material preparation to shipment of finished products to a consumer.

The «Mondi SLPC» owns three paper processing machines, a cardboard making machine and a drying machine for the production of market pulp. The mill has a wood-preparation plant, a cellulose plant, a thermal power plant with the capacity of 529 MW and a complex of treatment facilities.

The production cycle involves about 4,500 people, including employees of the company's own logging sites located in seven districts of the Komi Republic.

Today, the «Mondi SLPC» is among the largest enterprises of the Komi Republic.

According to Fastmarkets RISI, the company is one of the leaders of the Russian pulp and paper industry in 2019, and is in the 2nd place on the list of 50 largest companies in the country. The General Director of the enterprise, Mr. Klaus Peller, earned the first place in the nomination the «Mill Manager Award» («Enterprise Manager») of the prestigious International Industry Competition PPI Awards 2020.

The plant's production capacities are of a strategic importance for the region's residents. The treatment facilities process over 80 million cubic meters of water per year, including 100% of wastewater from Syktyvkar and the nearby industrial enterprises.

The plant's CHP provides 17% of Komi's electricity demand and is the only source of heat and hot water for 60,000 residents of Ezhvinsky District of the city of Syktyvkar.
Recently, the plant has completed large-scale investment projects - modernization of water treatment facilities in 2019 (investments amounted to about 65 million Euro) and the CHP in 2020 (almost 135 million Euros). The new bark boiler, installed during the CHP modernization, is one of the largest in Russia.

As the result of projects’ implementation, the plant will increase its efficiency and improve its environmental performance indicators. Thanks to the «Mondi Group»'s regular investment in modernisation, the «Mondi SLPC» increases its finished product output annually. The company's customers in Russia and abroad do appreciate the high quality of the plant's products and exceptional standards regarding environmental concerns.

The most famous of the «Mondi SLPC»’ s brands are: «Snegurochka» office paper - the leader in the rating of Russian goods among office paper producers, the first-class white top liner «ProVantage Komiwhite»- pure cellulose packaging cardboard made of northern wood and whitewashed commercial coniferous cellulose «Komicell», made without using elementary chlorine from certified wooden raw materials.

All of the «Mondi SLPC» ‘s office and offset papers are EU Ecolabel certified, confirming their high regard for the environment and low ecological impact when compared to other similarl products. The «Mondi SLPC»'s environmental and social policies are directly linked to the sustainable developmental goals. Responsible business management involves balancing the environmental, social and economic interests of the company, and is making significant efforts to ensure that the negative impact of its production activities on air, soil conditions and forestry is continuously lowered and will be continuously reduced in the future.

The «Mondi SLPC» supports WWF-Russia's conservation initiatives, cooperates with the «Silver Taiga» Foundation for Sustainable Development, and works to preserve the biodiversity of northern forests for future generations.

The plant is setting an example in the field of conserving high value forest resources in the Komi region. The company's forest lease (2.1 million hectares) is nearly 100% certified, according to the Forest Stewardship Council’s ® standards, as well as according to PEFC and ISO 14001 requirements. The share of especially valuable types of trees and forests being rented, which the company harvests, is 24%.
In its own forest nursery, the «Mondi SLPC» annually grows more than 8 million seedlings of pine and spruce with a secure root system. This is the plant's contribution to the renewal of forest resources of the Komi Republic and its neighbouring regions.
